Miley Cyrus: 'I'm mature for my age'

U.S. singer-actress Miley Cyrus says she is more mature than other teenagers her age thanks to her experiences in the entertainment industry.
The 16-year-old star of the Disney Channel series "Hannah Montana" also expressed concern with how she is perceived by the media and the public as she advances in age, The Boston Globe reported Sunday.
"I'm mature for my age, but then again you kind of have to be in this world," Cyrus said. "It's not that you've got to be mature, you've got to be smart, or otherwise people will trample all over you.

Billy Ray Cyrus remains BFF with Miley

Being best friends forever with his daughter is not a problem for Billy Ray Cyrus. But that's because the musician and actor makes certain it stays that way with his increasingly famous musician and actress daughter, Miley. While the two have become business partners in the franchise known as "Hannah Montana," Cyrus the father says he's learned to walk a tightrope that allows the two to "keep things real," as he likes to say. A: We saw the play "Mamma Mia," and halfway through it, Miley nudged me and said, "This is what I want to do. I want to be a great actress." Life of Miley Cyrus: Looking beyond 'Hannah Montana'

She is practically two people — the real-life incarnation of Disney's billion-dollar "Hannah Montana" franchise, and Miss Miley Cyrus, a precocious Southern girl who just released 272 pages on the life lessons she has learned in all of her 16 years.
Here's the rest: Critics' Choice and Golden Globe nominations, an impressive Grammy performance alongside pal Taylor Swift, a Kids' Choice Award, the cover of Glamour magazine, the premiere of "Hannah Montana: The Movie" this coming Friday.
The character takes on aspects of the real girl — both are Tennessee natives dealing with a new life in Hollywood, and dad Billy Ray Cyrus even plays her dad on the show. It's a level of fictional reality that makes perfect sense to teen viewers in this post- "The Hills" world.

Who Is Miley Cyrus Is Rooting for on Idol?

Which American Idol contestant has earned famous fan Miley Cyrus' votes this season? "Allison [Iraheta]'s my favorite!" Cyrus, 16, told Ryan Seacrest on his KIIS-FM radio show Thursday. "I've been texting with her."
Cyrus stopped by the Idol set this week to tape a performance of her new single, "The Climb," to be aired in an upcoming episode. "It went great and I had a lot of fun," she enthused.
The singer also got a chance to mingle with the season 8 contestants, and says she was wooed by Adam Lambert. "Adam said I looked gorgeous, which was nice!" Cyrus told Seacrest.
Were there any sparks there, the host asked Cyrus. "He's not my type," she quips. "He wears eyeliner!"
