Miley Cyrus to Mentor American Idol Contestants

 There’s going to be a “Party in the U.S.A.” — or at least in Hollywood — when Miley Cyrus lends her musical expertise to the remaining contestants on American Idol this week.
FOX confirms that the teen pop sensation will be the celebrity mentor during the Billboard No.1 hits-themed show on Tuesday (8 p.m. EST). Of the 11 contestants left, three are teens: Siobhan Magnus, 19, and Aaron Kelly, 16, and Katie Stevens, 17. Tim Urban is 20 years old.
But last week’s theme — contestants performed from The Rolling Stones‘ song book — proved age is nothing but a number as Magnus, Kelly and Stevens all pleased the judges with their take on classic songs by the legendary rock band.
On Wednesday’s results show (9 p.m. EST), Miley will be back to perform her hit song, “When I Look At You,” and new couple Joe Jonas and Demi Lovato will sing their duet, “Make A Wave.”

Miley Cyrus says she will 'rejoice' when Hannah Montana is over

 Teen pop star Miley Cyrus is famous for her self confidence, so it's surprising to hear she hates herself. The 17-year-old actress/singer tells Parade magazine that she can't wait to get rid of the person who made her famous, Hannah Montana.
"What I am sure about is I'm going to rejoice and be happy to finally not have to be ... well, to not be somebody I'm not exactly," Cyrus says of the role she has played since she was 12.
The tween star admits she's grown out of the character, but must abide her until January 2011 when Disney's "Hannah Montana" concludes.
'A friend came by the set one day and said, "You don't look very happy." I said, "I'm feeling claustrophobic in all these frills," ' she tells the magazine. ... Read More ...

MILEY CYRUS DEFENDS POLE DANCE ROUTINE

 MILEY CYRUS has defended her decision to include a raunchy pole dance in her performance at last year's (09) Teen Choice Awards - insisting the sexy routine was "right for the song".
The 17 year old caused controversy when she took to the stage in a revealing outfit at the Los Angeles ceremony and danced to Party in the USA on top of an ice-cream cart, gyrating against a stripper's prop. Miley Cyrus “Scared” by Country Music

Country music was very good to Billy Ray Cyrus. His smash debut single, “Achy Breaky Heart,” made the Kentucky native a national star and paid the bills for his family for many years, before Billy Ray successfully branched out into TV and film, most recently playing a country singer in the TV series, Hannah Montana. However, Hannah Montana star and Billy Ray’s daughter, Miley Cyrus, has some pretty harsh words for the musical genre.
AOL’s The Boot reports on an interview Miley did with Parade magazine in which she says of country music, “It scares me. It feels contrived on so many levels. Unless you’re wearing a cowboy hat and cowboy boots and singing and whining about your girlfriend or boyfriend leaving you it’s not going to sell. I think that’s why my dad finally got out of it. You have to wear those cowboy boots and be sweet as pie. It makes me nervous, the politics of it all.” ... Read More ...

Miley Cyrus: The Next Julia Roberts?

 Miley Cyrus sure has a lot to live up to.
First her Hannah Montana movie director, Peter Chelsom, compared Cyrus to Judy Garland, Shirley Temple and Barbra Streisand.
And now, Julie Anne Robinson, director of The Last Song, says Ms. Miley could be the next Pretty Woman…
"She's like Julia Roberts," Robinson recently told me. "I feel Miley can do anything—action, comedy, drama. She's got it all."
Robinson says she was turned on to the Roberts comparison after Cyrus auditioned for The Last Song. "Our director of photography, John Lindley, worked with Julia years ago and when Miley came in for the screen test, he said, 'This really reminds me of when Julia Roberts walked on set,'" Robinson said. Miley Cyrus enjoyed Liam Hemsworth's native Australia

 Miley Cyrus' boyfriend Liam Hemsworth enjoyed taking her to his native Australia
The former 'Neighbors' actor - who worked with Miley on drama movie 'The Last Song' - admits his parents took to her when she visited.
He said: "Yeah, they loved her. It was really cool to show Miley where I'm from and how I grew up, and it's a completely different world to where she's from. We don't have shopping centers of traffic lights or anything like that, where I live, at least."
Although born in the city of Melbourne, Liam spent the majority of his teenage years on the picturesque Phillip Island and 17-year-old Miley claims she became fond of the area because it felt like her own hometown, Nashville.
She told E! Daily 10: "It was awesome, I really like Australia.

Miley Cyrus Received Hate Mail On Twitter

 Although Miley Cyrus deleted her Twitter account last fall, it still seems to be a hot topic of discussion as she makes the rounds promoting her latest flick, "The Last Song." She said that one of the reasons she left the social-networking site is because she believes the Internet "wastes your life," and in a new interview, she admits that some of the things she said in her tweets angered people.
"There has been so much controversy sometimes about what I've said or done because I believe there are no mistakes, because God is the only one who can judge us," Cyrus told Parade magazine. "That's the reason I deleted my Twitter account because I said on there that I believed in gay marriage because everyone should have the right to love each other, and I got such hate mail about my being a bad person." ...
